It's a room, and who's standing in it.CineTalks is a conversation series from CineHaus built to create that room on purpose - bringing filmmakers and industry professionals together to speak candidly about how films really get made.

• Beginning at 6:00 p.m., a curated experience where we directly connect and pair you with other filmmakers for one on one intentional conversations! It is built for filmmakers who are looking to meet new people and connect in the LA film community!
  
• At 8 p.m., we'll begin our featured conversation, From Script to Screen: What Gets Independent Projects Made Right Now. An audience Q&A and networking mixer will follow.

JB Ballard began his career in the writers' room of SHAMELESS before joining Marvel Studios as a writer on X-MEN '97. He recently wrapped SUPERMUTANT MAGIC ACADEMY for Adult Swim, alongside REGULAR SHOW creator J.G. Quintel.

David Josh Lawrence is the Head of Acquisitions at Studio Dome, where he oversees both distribution and film/television development. Backed by 18 years of professional experience as a writer, actor, and producer, he navigates the complexities of protecting a filmmaker’s creative vision while positioning projects for the realities of the marketplace.

Together, they'll discuss the full journey of an independent project - from writing and pitching through acquisitions and distribution - including the parts of the process that rarely get talked about.

We are joined by Tori and Anja, the writer/director and lead actress/producer of Inversion! In the past 8 months they have helped over 200 filmmakers connect and find their community here in LA while developing their own slate of indie productions!

CineTalks is also about what happens beyond the stage. Each gathering creates space to exchange ideas, ask better questions, and meet collaborators with purpose.
